A little over a year and a half ago I was haring for the second or third time, while still relatively new to the hash. An idea for a type of check came to mind, I asked my more experienced co-hare if it would work, and we decided to use it, since then it has become quite popular in Phoenix, and is used once or twice at nearly most hashes:
Brown Bag Check - a "BB" written inside a circle.
This means that we have some type of alcohol hidden away within a few feet in a common brown paper bag that you can get from any liquor store. When the pack finds this mark, they haveto dig through the nearby bushes or whatever is around to find the bag, and not a single person can continue until the entire bottle is empty.
The first time I did it, it was just two bottles of MD 20/20 tucked into the bags, but now we generally throw a large bottle or even a handle of some kind of liquor in the bag. This forces the pack to hold back a while and drink even more than usual, with liquor that is sometimes good, and sometimes horrible cheap nasty stuff.
