So I am currently in the process of having a custom wand built, and I am finding that length is sort of an issue.
According to wand lore, wand length is roughly 8-14 inches, with anything more or less being extremely rare and for special circumstances. And looking at the wand lengths for main characters it seems to hold true. Yet when I measure out 12 inches, which is what the wandmaker told me is a longer length and one I would be happy with, it felt very very short.
Now I know that for the films they had to increase the size of the wands from their book lengths because they were shorter than desired, and obviously longer wands look cooler on film.
Am I crazy? I feel like my preference for wands also has an influence. I am more drawn to longer wands. I am a short person, so maybe itโs a compensation thing. Idk I just feel like 12 inches seems like itโs a twig in my hand.
