I'm not sure if I haven't been paying attention or anything but-

How did Voldemort become the hire of Salazar Slytherin?
I'm confused about the Invisibility cloak. Was it the only Invisibility cloak ever or are there other ones (if there was then why didn't the other witches and wizards have any) coz I remember Ron saying that it is very rare which could probably mean there are others but in the story of of Deathly Hallows it appears as there was only 1 invisibility cloak passed on from generations.
