If a living thing is made into a horcrux (e.g. Nagini), and that living thing dies of natural causes, would that kill the horcrux too?

Post Body

On the one hand, Rowling said that, if Harry had died from the basilisk in Chamber of Secrets, that would have killed the horcrux inside him. So that sets the precedent for a horcrux dying if the living vessel also dies.

On the other hand, it seems weird that Voldemort would make Nagini a horcrux if it was only a temporary one. So maybe Nagini becomes just as immortal as Voldemort does by way of the same tether?

On the OTHER other hand, Voldemort may not have known about that, since reliable information on how horcruxes work is few and far between, hence why he had to peg Slughorn for information.
