Voldemort is evil due to no one loving him, not because he was conceived under a love potion.

Post Body

The absence of love since his birth ultimately played a huge role in his evilness.

Being conceived under a love potion where Tom Riddle Senior was so drugged he couldn't consent is a great symbol of how messed up his upbringing was even before his birth.

Now some in the fandom says :

Conceived under a love potion = you're going to be evil

Actually if Merope had the will to live and take care of Voldemort, he may have turned different as Dumbledore says in HBP. Even given his heinous conception, as Merope clearly abused Tom Riddle Sr to have a child, he may have done something good for the world.

The love potion is actually a great symbol of how atrociously dysfunctional his family was. While in real life the majority of kids of families like these turn out good, a few end up becoming criminals and often blame it on their upbringing.

It was also a common trait of his lineage. I always assumed that raising a Gaunt child in a loveless childhood is a recipe for disaster. Contrary to that, harry was raised similar, and he was as loving as could be.
