So we know that his soul currently can't move on because he weakened it too much from all the pieces he turned into horcruxes. So now that his weak soul is bodiless without a horcrux to anchor to life, he's stuck in purgatory.
We also know that destroying a Horcrux container beyond repair gets rid of it, but does it actually destroy the soul piece? Or does it get sent to purgatory since I don't think even magic can actually destroy a soul (except for maybe the dementors kiss which consumes it). Assuming it would go to purgatory as an incomplete soul does, Voldemorts main soul and all the pieces would now be there, just separated because he split them, but it was explained that feeling deep remorse could bring the soul back together
If, while stuck in purgatory for a long time, Voldemort finally begins to feel remorse for the horrible things he did, his sould could vec9ne whole again and he'd be able to move on. Essentially this idea hinges on magic not actually being able to destroy the soul pieces, just release them once the container is destroyed. Any thoughts on this?
