Storage hardware question...
Post Body
I'd like to invest in a new machine solely built for high amounts of storage.
In particular, I would like to able to upgrade the machine to support, well, as many hard drives as possible.
In the beginning I will probably start with 8 (1/2TB each) but would like in the coming years to potentially get up to 16, 24, 32 drives in the same machine. Is that even possible in the consumer PC market?
I'd like to make them RAID, and I haven't done much research on RAID yet, but RAID-5 sounds good. Also, I presume SATA is still the prevailing interface.
What hardware (cards, etc.) would support this?
Help? Thanks.
