Aussie festival culture getting worse or better?

Pit was unreal vibes, and oasis was great, but from my experience so far at multistage festivals, Aussie main-stages may take the cake for the worst crowds I've ever experienced.

I just wanna start by saying I'm 19yo die-hard fan of the music however I fully understand and do not expect 65k people at a festival to know 95% of songs that get played. I don't even care if they know a single song to be honest, if everyone just wants to rock up and have a good time I'm all for it.

However, in saying that from my experiences at mainstage (literally just the end of hhz set) and videos I saw online, the crowd just sucked. I felt noticeably judged for even just having my fists in the air during drops let alone singing along to melodies and words. I'm aware we've always had hordes of zombies at main-stage which for me really dulls the experience but now actually getting judged just made me angry. I honestly feel less judged at a festival like BTV/pitch (more mainstream festivals in Australia)

This question then goes to the old gens, how do you all feel about the crowds at modern events? Are they getting druggier, judgier, or did I just get unlucky with where I was standing?

I came from Adelaide to experience a HSU event for the first time, I swear I was the only one moving in that crowd, I was rolling hard. But I took a sec to look around it was like the walking dead.

Like the vibe wasn’t there like our events in Adelaide. But later, I heard oasis and the pit were the place to be if I wanted that.

But I still loved every second of it, I was Devo it didn’t go for longer.
