Reposting what I wrote on another sub because I think this is a good place to look:
I'm in a wheelchair and I've never really had anyone else with a disability to talk to. In fact, I've just been incredibly alone so I could use a friend, disabled or not. Either way, all disabilities are different (mental and physical) and I don't judge at all, I would just like to have a friend that knows what it's like living with a disability and can be understanding and perhaps commiserate a little bit.
Part of this is being open and honest, so hopefully you won't have a problem talking about things. I do really poorly with small talk, mainly because I spend most of my time in my home and hardly ever do anything interesting. Also while this isn't a requirement, I'd prefer to talk to someone who is not in a relationship, regardless of gender. Generally speaking, I don't want to just be the person that someone talks to only when their s/o isn't around.
I probably sound really picky, but I'll honestly talk to anyone. Some of my interests are music, gaming, writing and getting to know new people and what makes them who they are. I use Kik and Skype mostly, but I'm open to talking however way you're comfortable with.
Thank you for reading all of this if you got to the end without falling asleep :)
