Hey everyone, back with another card I'll be testing out this evening, this time it's [[semblance anvil]] up on deck.
Through gold fishing there seems to be a lot of promise for this card as a 2 of for finishing games on turn 2-3 when mana is tight. Semblance Anvil does away with mana by allowing us to just crap our hand onto the table and force our opponent to have answers.
3 mana isn't too demanding, the imprint portion obviously hurts us a bit, but I feel the upside outweigh the downside if the main list gets tweaked ever so slightly to accommodate the anvils. We can always toss a darksteel citadel to the imprint cost as well. (has to be nonland card) Anvil is a bad top deck but does work as ravager food in a pinch which is why I'd only expect it as a 1-2 of.
It feels like a safer metallic mimic, allowing us to play all our cards for free instead of just the ballista and walker. Helps the issue of dropping our hands quickly enough when we have those awkward 3 land games with all the 2 drops as well.
The card seems like something that needs to be answered as soon as it drops.
As always let me know your thoughts on the matter, lightning greaves turned out to be a bit too awkward on mana to be usable, where as this card just adds nothing but speed to the list if you get to 3 mana.
I'll be updating with more thoughts on the card after FNM this evening.
