In 2009, high ranking North Oakland "Ice City" gang member Nguyen Ngo's murder sparked the feud, or "funk" as it's known in the streets of the Bay, between Northside Oakland and Waterfront South Berkeley (home turf of infamous viral troll rapper Lil B) which resulted in many retaliation killings. North Oakland, home of NFL prodigy Marshawn Lynch, is a place where the demographic split seems to see blacks and Asians living together side by side and getting along. As you can see in many North Oakland videos, Asian dudes are hanging out on the some of the dangerous blocks of the West Coast alongside blacks without issue:

What is peculiar about certain Bay Area inner city areas is that race is not as big of deal as it is mainstream America. As it stands, Oakland holds the title of the most integrated and diverse city in America. People in many inner city Bay Area neighborhoods ban together regardless of racial lines in order to make money and survive there. The end result is insane cross cultural overlap that doesn't make sense to outsiders of the culture:

Where I grew up for my early years in the Lakeview district in San Francisco was similarly integrated between blacks and Asians with very little racial tensions. This reality contradicts the bullshit white mainstream image of trying to paint a picture to where blacks and Asians are supposed to dislike each other in the funhouse mirror image of Asians being the mythical "model minority". Sometimes, I wish I had stayed in the ghetto in the Bay Area instead of leaving for East Coast suburbia at an awkward age to fulfill my WMAF parents' dream of a "normal" mainstream American suburban life. At least in some of the ghetto areas of the Bay, Asian men are seen more as equals instead of a walking punchline limited to tired stereotypes. White guys in the boardrooms in Silicon Valley do not see their Asian male peers as equals (i.e. bamboo ceiling) in the way black corner boys in North and East Oakland see their Asian homies as equals.
