Really nice elderly client paid full price in advance. She needed the front porch replaced to sell the home and move somewhere warmer. The guys were doing such an awful job she threw them off site and the company refused to refund her.
I plan on finishing the railings and fixing the small stuff to salvage as much as I can. Then use wood filler, caulk and DeckOver to hide the gaps/imperfections.
Any advice on how to get a proper foundation for the posts and bottom of the stairs?
I figured dig out the stairs and put a small concrete pad to meet the stringers, and dig down around the posts and use a tube to create a concrete footing for them. Any other thoughts?
