Need some advice. I have been trying to simply prep this brand new plane blade for hours now. Running across an extra course diamond stone. I paid $175 for this no. 5 jack plane… is this normal to take so long to prep? Should I just return it? Should I make a secondary bevel & worry about it later?

I've never even though about making my primaries on stones... Bench grinder and lots of cooling two quick passes and you're done...
