New(ish) to hand tool woodworking. Iv been in restoring about 7 or 8 saws (various sizes) recently. I’m fine with sharpening and have even filed new teeth on one of the tenon saws which only has a few mistakes that doesn’t appear to affect its performance. However I’m a bit stuck with knowing exactly how much set to apply. I have been setting the marker to the same PPI of the blade and some saws are grabbing (friction) and others just don’t feel quite right. Now this could be down to other factors, but does anyone have advice or tips on how they set their saws? Thanks
