Anyone at /handguns use/own a holster for your pistol or revolver?

If so what is the material (cloth, plastic, leather, etc.) and intended purpose (ccw, open, quick draw, etc.)
I've been scoping out a kydex paddle that clips in your pants or can be belted external. Any one use a hard plastic for conceal? Curious if it's a bulky nuisance.
