I've been trying to get handbrake working again for about a week. Basically I click the icon, and it doesn't open at all. I've checked in task manager, and it shows handbrake is attempting to opening, and then just disappears. I've already tried a fresh install of handbrake (Both current build, and the version I installed when I get this computer). Tried CheckDisk, SFC, and DISM for system repair. Tried running in compatibility mode, and admin mode (First separate, and then together). I'm on Windows 10 64-Bit Home, with .Net Framework 4.7.2 installed because of last creators update. Anyone have an idea what might be causing it? Edit: fixed it. Apparently windows thought it was updated to 1904 when it wasn't. I properly updated windows and handbrakes works now.
