I recently bought a Dutchware "complete netted hammock package" (https://dutchwaregear.com/product/complete-netted-hammock-package/) which includes an 11ft half-zipped hammock and comes with the beetle buckle suspension.
I'm really liking the hammock life and as an Ultralighter, I want to shed some weight and bulk. Particularly the suspension seems overly heavy. From what I've gathered, the Whoopie Hook Suspension seems to be the lightest option and also totally okay in terms of fiddliness (I'm pretty confident with knots and rope stuff).
My questions:
- Is there a lighter option that isn't too fiddly or annoying?
- If I'm going with the whoopie hook: Which length tree huggers should I get? I was thinking 5'. Or is the 4' enough? (Again, I've only spent three nights in the hammock)
- I'm considering getting the spider webbing. Anything speak against that (other than cost)?
- Anything else I'm missing?
Thanks a lot in advance!
