Why I left Halo Infinite
Post Body

So I left infinite a while ago but still keep updates in my feed from time to time. This morning I was greeted with the bug report: marines will not enter any vehicles other than the hosts, "its not a bug it's a feature" and it prompted me to come on here and voice my personal thoughts on the halo franchise in its current state. Before you call me a halo hater I have built a reach cosplay, full to scale reach rocket launcher and halo is my favorite franchise of games.

I stopped playing after 343 said there is no desync or lag issues yall don't know what your talking about, as I got shot behind every wall in the game. I play many other games with huge networking overhead such as apex, cod warzone, and others but have seemingly no issues with any of those at all. Heck I even do bhop and surf on csgo which requires precise movements on a server of 40 people and have very rare issues.

Add that on top of pretty much no meaningful customization, lack of btb heavies, nonexistent custom games/forge (yes I know the new forge is coming and I'm very upto date with it and it's features).

But in general it feels like what seems to be a hate for the halo community. Whether it's for halo infinite changes or the TV show, it seems like the company has a genuine distain for the halo community as a whole. Anytime a dev speaks out about changes that they make, tv show producer interviews, or even bug fix notes it comes off as very condescending. And it's not just once, it's repeated all the time.. as if the halo community as a whole is this steel ball dragging at the legs of 343/ halo team.

All we hear is this is not a bug it's a feature, no there's no desync your internet is just bad, we specifically did not play the games, so we made an entirely new time-line, it's a live service (with no real meaning changes in an entire year) but totally it's a live service, though the entire community wants something we feel it's better to make changes that the players don't want, we want to appeal to a broader audience ( not the people that actually consume your products).

I have to give a huge shout out to the forge team though, somehow in all of this destruction and chaos they are pulling out a perfect gem of a tool. No doubt the networking or game browser will drop the ball but forge its self is wonderful.

Were coming up on 1 year since the game released. In 1 year we had (I believe to my memory it's probably off) 2new maps, 3 new game modes. One of which is just team deathmatch with random weapons turned on, a co op flight that looks and plays like an fan made 1.0 mod. 0 new weapons and vehicles. We also had a TV show that ruined the character of master chief and treats spartans like they are children that need to be wrangled at every turn... but at least Kai had a pretty bad ass fightscene near the end.

I can still hop on and witness major desync and bugs and I don't need that anymore. Maybe the game and TV show will be good in 4 years time at this current rate. But it's not for me right now. I shall go back to the mcc and play stuff made by a company that cared about creativity and fun. This isn't a hate speech more of a sad letter to the halo universe. I know that I will get a lot of hate for writing this but I see so many people feeling the same way I had to write this and metaphorically get it out.

Forge is going to save infinite. Everyone is excited for it, why? because it's in a way taking creative control away from people that don't care about the halo universe and giving power to those that do.
