Infinite Multiplayer on PC - are you using GamePass for PC or Steam? Is there any difference?

I installed via GamePass and had some trouble with screen tearing but I think I've managed to get that resolved.
However, I've seen other players talk about how they have been able to get over 60FPS but the settings via gamepass seem to be only up to 60FPS. Is this due to having downloaded via Xbox GP or is this the same on Steam?
Are there any other differences besides the obvious?
