Moldy apartment, what are my options?
Post Body

tl;dr - can I just hightail it if mold is moderately present and causing minor health issues?

Over the past few weeks of humidity, a sudden and sizeable burst of mold has crept up in my basement apartment.

Previously, a heavy rain in the early spring led to water rising through the slab and it needed vacuuming etc. I ran a dehumidifier for some time before returning it to its owner.

I've noticed dampness during heavier rains since, but nothing that could be considered "flooding" (as in, no noticable puddles).

Over this weekend I was away, and I returned to several spots on my floor with green and dark spots of mold; I have various fabrics in otherwise non-compromising positions suddenly full of fuzzy mold (including a camera strap that sits on a low shelf).

I'm running the dehumidifier constantly, and plan to do a deep clean with bleach and continue with the dehumidifier.

My question is, if I can't get on top of this, am I still obliged to provide a three month notice if it's directly impacting my health/seeming health of my animals? If I can't rectify this, I want to leave so the owners can do whatever they need to fix it.

Cheers and thanks for your help.

Also: anyone have a 75 foot garden hose I could borrow (with down payment as collateral) to empty a full washing machine? This is ALSO a culprit in some dampness as it filled up a few weeks ago and won't drain. I need to remove it so it can be replaced. Landlords are pretty reasonable overall and offered a quick replacement, I just haven't been able to schedule with them. Thanks!
