Moving furniture the cheapest way

Hey folks, My roommate and I were thinking about buying some furniture off Kijiji/Value Village and transporting them home. We have a Chevy Cruze but it doesn't have the capacity to fit in a wardrobe or any such heavy items. I've seen people use CarShare Atlantic and mini-vans from Casino Taxi. I feel like U-Haul might end up being the best bet but any better ideas would be appreciable.
