Did a similar thing last year and someone reposted it here and I got a lot of PMs wondering why I didn't post in our subreddit directly which makes sense, so hi! :D
A lot of people aren't aware but these warmer months are super rough on animal shelters because it's far and away when cats give birth the most, it even has the name kitten season. Shelters have tight resources normally and this really puts them into an extra strain for looking after orphaned or abandoned kitties, as well as general food and resources.
The app is called Apollo for Reddit, it's a Reddit app for iOS that serves as an alternative to the official app. I used to work at Apple and wanted something that felt really at home on iOS and felt super fast and powerful. It's free to download with a Pro/Ultra version unlock you can make in the app.
Years back a game I liked (I can't remember for the life of me dangit) pledged 100% of their proceeds for the day to a great cause, and I remember thinking how cool it was that I get their game and basically help out a charity at the same time. So now that I kinda have my own thing that sounds really awesome to be able to do so I want to!
So yeah, I've lived in Halifax basically my whole life (got my CS degree from Dal), got my two delightful cats Hugo and Ruby from the Dartmouth shelter so it really hits home for me, that shelter is really run by a great bunch.
If you're not on iOS or just want to donate directly you can do so via PayPal ([email protected]) or donate directly to the shelter.
Thank you! And thank you to the mods for allowing this post as wel.
