Financial independence on H1B?
Post Body

Being on an H1B visa effectively means that you never know how long you'll be able to stay in the U.S. Things get a little better once your employer initiates the green card process, but with the extended processing time and pending immigration reforms things remain somewhat uncertain.

I'm curious to hear how other H1B survivors are approaching financial independence, especially real estate decision (both primary residence and rental properties) and healthcare planning (to HSA or not to HSA?).
