Hi everyone,
I’m currently an F-1 international student set to graduate in May 2025. I’ve already secured a full-time job offer that starts right after graduation. However, I don’t have an EAD (Employment Authorization Document) yet.
I was wondering if my employer can file for my H-1B visa during the April 2025 cap cycle. A few things I’m trying to figure out:
Since H-1B employment only starts on October 1, 2025, would I need OPT to legally work between May and October 2025?
Is there anything I or my employer should be doing right now to prepare?
I’d really appreciate any insights from those who’ve been in a similar situation or are familiar with the process. Thanks in advance!
