It doesn't explain in the book and I haven't found anybody talking about it online. The only way I could think to do it would be Pokemon style, but even then how would it play out? It's the only thing stopping me from being able to play the games.
Ok so.
Here is how I do it. I make an imaginary camera view from the back of the "character" and then imagine it like an anime fight going on until a position goes for when a character gets close to losing then I decide whether or not this is a good story driven way to end the fight.
