I think I've made this post tons of times already but, well again!
Seriously, going 2nd has tons of advantage
You can Red Coin Abuse with Dun Banners and Thaler / 13 Point Spy meet 13 Point Unit ensuring you can play just 1 card to pass your opponent if they end up passing because even if they don't they'll end up going two cards down, it's a lose/lose situation.
You're not forced to play high-tempo because you don't need to worry about the situation where they go a turn where they can't match an opponent's tempo and gets passed the next round and get forced to go a card down. Even if they pass you can play a card and exceed their tempo and unless they run wardancer, you can dry pass and gain turn advantage for R3 or bleed them dry R2
Passing / Winning / Playing a Spy is easier to judge. If your opponent fails to match your tempo R1 then you can just pass they'll go 2 cards down for R3 . If your opponent passes and you can exceed their tempo, you can play and gain turn advantage for R3. If your deck has a scorch effect and your opponent played something has something that is 13 power play a spy, they have to go a card down to disrupt the power difference or else they either risk getting scorched to the face (As a fucking NR player, I really want Redanian Elite to be 9 base strength or atleast boosts by 6 and Kaedweni Knight to boost to 14 strength because it's just that ridiculously easy for us to get into this situation. Fucking seriously). And if you play Thaler triggering Dun Banners it's fucking impossible to not even match/exceed the value unless your opponent played an extremely low tempo opener to disrupt this (Which you can easily punish by going high tempo and making them unable to catch up giving you ensured CA for R3) or has a Spy of their own.
Seriously, the 'advantages' for going first isn't even that good
- You get to set-up your engine early Most proactive engines only work with something on the board, the only ones I can think off that have any advantage going first is Savage Bear, Captain Longship Combo, Vrihedd Draagoon, Hawker Smuggler, Tutor Unit Boon Card and all of these die pretty easy other than the boon one.
That's literally the only fucking advantage I can think of.
