War of the Worlds campaign?

So I had this idea to make a campaign using H.G. Wells's War of the Worlds, with some details changed:

-The year is 1914, so the Invasion of the Martians takes place instead of WW1

-Steampunk tech would be making an appearance

I can't really mechanically find much on how to make giant walkers, though(the size mod rules are a bit...loose, in my experience), so does anyone have any ideas? I'd love to hear them.
