I inherited this mosin. I did not do this.
She fires and shoots great, except this rigged up scope situation makes it to where you could aim at the ground and fucking miss.
Essentially what this air head did was get a strip of tin and bend it under the barrel. Then “mounted” everything to that. Obviously you can wiggle it every which way.
I’ve never worked on a mosin, and never with a dovetail. What do I need to do/buy to get this thing deer-ready for my brother when he gets back from his deployment to the Middle East?
Sorry if it’s a dumb question, but I have no idea where to start to get a reliable optic on this thing.
