Truly amazing piece as an amateur gunsmith. I do believe that this was manufactured early to mid 19th century. Being that the lock maker joseph golger was active around that time and the Remington company was in it's infancy, only selling barrel blanks to gunsmiths across the New York area. My question is if my idea of it's origin is accurate. What are the 3 other holes on the muzzle for? I originally thought they were some form of ye old compensator, but I stuck a thin piece of metal thing in them and they're each about an inch deep and lead straight instead of angled. Idk thanks for reading.
