I want a do-it-all type modern rifle in a full size hard-hitting round to complement a 5.56. I kind of do want something that isn't an AR platform, but not unwilling to lean that way. Aside from a great all-arounder, priority would be dependability, accuracy (doesn't need to be precision) and something that isn't at all picky about ammo.
SCARs mostly look awesome to me, especially the 20s. I also prefer side charging handles. The issue is, is it worth over something like a Sig 716i, LMT, Larue, OBR, LWRC?
I love sig but the 716 looks like any other rifle. LWRC REPR MKII Elite with the proof research barrel looks awesome but there isn't much user info or reviews on them. I found one long-term review on the REPR MKII Elite with nothing but praise for it while trekking frozen and dirty conditions.
Opinions? Preferably from current owners of above or similar rifles.
Most comparisons on the web are too old to fully impact my decision, such as optics breaking issue on SCARs or the charging handle.
