This will be formed as a story for legal protection on the very slim chance of someone actually caring enough to make this an issue/the unknown.
So the totally didnt happen non-fiction story is that said person bought a glock 45 gen 5 and specifically asked up-front prior to buying about the round limits (round limits are no more than 15 in CO). But the gun shop said they can sell the mag broken down in parts legally. Beyond this though is that on the sale the 3 mags included with the gun were not even broken down. Obviously thats going to be impossible to prove down the line that it was sold like that but still...
Now there is no concern about the liability of the gun store, thats their problem if they did anything wrong. The issue at hand is what needs to be done for the buyer to not land in legal trouble at any point in the future holding 17 round mags. Should a mag block be purchased? Or is there some loophole that warrants that unnecessary? Older mags and perhaps mags purchased out of state don't qualify for the mag limit so perhaps its just impossible to prove and law enforcement doesnt care? This was not a rinky dink gun store, it was a popular one in the area with quite a few sales reps there in full view of the sale.
So that's the probably common story here, curious about opinions on what should be done from here if anything at all. And for the record my personal opinion of the mag limit is that its complete BS and not productive; but I still intend to follow the laws.
