I ordered a S&W MP9 2.0 with night sights and 3 mags from Grabagun for what appeared to be a great deal and had it shipped to my FFL. Then found the same setup from Smokey Mountain for an even better deal ($50 cheaper) and also had that shipped to the same FFL. Now my FFL is concerned and informed me of the multiple handgun purchase within a 5 business day period rule and that he will have to submit paperwork to my city's CLEO as well as to his city's CLEO and the ATF. He offered to ship back one of them, or if I REALLY want to, he will proceed with the paperwork.
I have nothing to hide (except for my wife to find out that I bought TWO more guns lol) but I'm not keen on raising any eyebrows or receiving a visit from the BATF.
There is a 15% restocking fee at GAG and 20% at SMGA plus return shipping, which would negate the "deal" that I received Not keen on that either.
Anybody have any experience with this? What would you suggest in this situation?
Also, if I were to keep both, but sell one of them at a later date, would it be wise to transfer the pistol to the person through an FFL versus a bill of sale as I normally would?
Thanks in advance.
