First time post here figured I'd take a friendly little survey. Let's talk handguns what was your first and your opinion about it. I'll start the thread off with my sig sauer sp2022 chambered in .40 s&w. I had researched and talked with my family and friends about make and model as well as caliber for a year or greater trying to decide where to start. I knew I wanted a sig or a smith & Wesson. Then I had to decide 9mm or .40cal needless to say I went with the .40 and couldn't be happier. I have shot 9 and 45 and I feel like the .40 is a happy medium and the right caliber for me. As for the sp2022 it performs great. Polymer lower with a steel slide makes it a good weight for a concealed carry. Easy breakdown, a smooth trigger and overall a great looking gun. Having said that I wanted something a bit smaller now that I'm accustomed to carrying and handling a handgun. A friend of mine recently bought a Springfield xds 9mm and I fell in love with both the platform and the feel of it. For such a small firearm it fit comfortably in my large hands and it shot beautifully right out of the box. I purchased the same model only went with the .40cal yet again and I feel like a kid at Christmas waiting on the shop to call and say my order has arrived. So let's hear it Reddit, what was your first handgun and why did you like/dislike it?
