Looking into the xds 4.0. Anybody have any experience?

Been looking at them since they came out. I like the look and feel and the idea of .45 auto I can put in my pocket. But it seems it would be a lot to handle on a small frame. Is that the case? Keep in mind i want to make sure my girlfriend can handle it too
