Rangers rifle ideas
Post Body

Hey guys I work as a park ranger/forest ranger for the nps, usfs, blm ect. Most of my jobs are seasonal and can be in different locations across the United States. Even though my job does not require me to carry a firearm I like to bring some with me every job for recreation and self protection outside of work from animals while camping/hiking & for 2 legged animals. Iā€™ve been wanting to buy a ā€œcamp rifleā€ or a ā€œrangersā€ rifle something that could be used to defend yourself against anything from bears to coyotes or humans but be light enough to hike with for short-medium distances. My budget is about $1500 my thoughts are marlin sbl, Ruger Alaskan 338, Ruger gunsite scout, Ruger sfar. I know thereā€™s a lot of rugers but they just seem to have a lot of ā€œwilderness gunsā€ idk if yā€™all have any other recommendations please let me know or just let me know which I should pick !
