I am hopefully today going to go shooting my 308s. I have a PSA AR-10 and Thompson Center Compass. I had the brake on the bolt action, but then started thinking with the longer barrel, there's going to be less recoil. However, the semi uses some of the gases to cycle. The AR just came with a comp. I swapped them out to see if I would get better recoil reduction by putting it on the AR. Am I overthinking this? Just try it out and call it a day? Curious what this community has to say from firsthand experience.
