I went a bit nuts on the superbowl sale at Gym Ratz, well more than a little. I placed an order for 11 firearms on 2/3 with an order number in the high 17xx. I wasn't worried about anything because of the great reviews I found about them online.
Feb 8 I sent an email - " Any updates on this order? When do you think they will arrive at my FFL - I'm not in a hurry, just like to plan - not sure how long my FFL will want to sit on an order this size, so I need to have my ducks in a row. Will they arrive all the same day? "
I got a very nice email in response saything they were swamped, but should have everything shipped by the 11th or 12th - no problem. I can deal with that.
On the 16th I get another email, my grail ruger backpack is delayed until the 21st due to fedex. Again, I can deal with that.
On the 24th I ask for updates - no response.
On the 27th, I ask for updates, and add that I would like to cancel anything that hasn't shipped. I get an email saying that all guns were shipping together on the 28th.
The 28th I get three tracking numbers!!! Hurrah, joy, joy... Not
My FFL calls me on 3/4 saying that they have 2 firearms for me to pick up. I am not happy. I contact Gymratz and get an email saying that there are more en route that I did not get tracking for, and that 7 will be there for me by the next day, 3/5.
I went to my ffl after the mail arrived on 3/5 and picked up 4 firearms, all ruger - not the 7 I was promised.
I email John yesterday 3/5 thanking him for the four ruger firearms that I had gotten, and once again requesting to cancel the remainder of the order. I get more apologies, and 2 more tracking numbers, but once again I have no idea what or how many firearms have shipped.
I want to file a charge-back, but my local FFL is amazing, and I don't want to have them have to deal with mailing anything back that arrives and is en-route. I asked john to tell me what had shipped at this point, so I could do a partial charge-back, and he avoids the question. FTC says all orders must be shipped within 30 days of taking payment, and if no permission is given from the customer, refunds must be made without the customer even requesting it.
I am frustrated and have no idea what to do. I have purchased 7 firearms that I have no idea where they are, when they will arrive, or if I will ever get them. If I had gotten truth at any point along the way, even if it had been along the line of "Sorry, but we got a ton of orders and it may well take a month to ship your stuff," I would be fine. The problem is, every email has been half truths and lies. I'm frustrated.
