Gibson quality control can be hit or miss. Finally found a Standard that didn’t have as many problems. 2021 model.

I never found a Les Paul I liked until I found my current one (a 2021). The only real fault was a nut cut way too low on the treble side (the b, in particular). It's at a local luthier having the frets replaced with stainless steel jumbos and a bone nut.

I must have tried a hundred Gibsons over the last 29 years, and the only two I've ever really liked are mine and my buddy's '59 reissue VOS. I think I got lucky.
