First pedal decisions
Post Body

Hey all, I'm pretty new to guitar pedals. I have experience playing with an interface and a DAW, but outside of that all I have is an amp with overdrive and a reverb knob. I was wondering what you guys would suggest for me, I don't really play a specific style but I like to just simply put it as experimental. I always try to give my recordings a Pink Floyd/Tool/Nine Inch Nails kind of stench, if you can imagine an ambient psychedelic trip that eventually crawls into a metal sound that learns to calm itself down, that's pretty much the easiest way to describe it.

So for the pedals, I'm on a budget so I'm going to slowly build a board up, but I'm thinking about a flanger, wah, chorus, or octaver for my first one, eventually I'll be looking for a distortion but I'll let the DAW do that work for now. I know a multi pedal also exists for this specific purpose but like I said I'm on a budget and can't afford a $200-300 piece of hardware at the moment.

Like I said, I'm just looking for suggestions, thanks in advance!
