Anyone used a POG and an Boss OC-5 (or other octaver)?

hello!
has anyone any experience of using different octave pedals with bass...
i'm using a POG at the moment, but i sometimes struggle to get the higher notes sounding as sweet as i'd like. just wondering if other octavers, like the OC-5 maybe, might be a little mellower?
