What Are Some Good Indie Pedals To Get On A Budget?

The sound I'm looking for is somewhere along the lines of The Smiths/Sales/Mac DeMarco/King Krule, or generally very jangly-punchy. The thing is, I don't know a thing about pedals and every thread I find lists equipment that's discontinued or way out of my price range (see: anything 350-ish usd and under). Can anyone help me out?
