Played into a tube amp, now I want to sell my entire pedal setup. Am I crazy?
Post Body

Hey all. So the other day on a whim I grabbed a cheap tube screamer to play with my partner's tube amp and cab. And somehow it was like the perfect sound I've wanted to go for. Just that, with slapback delay.

My current setup is about five overdrive pedals, and amp sim, modulation and stereo time-based effects, going into a cab sim.

It sounds okay, maybe a little digitally harsh but muffled, but it all feels like it's too many options and too much narrowing in a tone without ever feeling satisfied. I legit think I might just sell most of my gear, then get some cheap pedals second hand for compression, chorus and reverb.

Part of me is considering if it's worth getting a multi effect like the HX stomp, but even that feels like it might just be opening up the door for more menu diving shenanigans.

what do you guys think? Has anyone ever had a total change of heart as to their approach?
