Just upgraded from my Mustang Lt25 to my first tube amp. Only thing I’ll miss is the modeling capabilities. It’s just really fun to chase tones, and create your own unique combinations of effects and stuff. But the Helix is just ridiculously expensive, and has features I realistically prolly won’t ever use like the audio interface.
I have a Zoom B1xfour for my bass and I’ve loved it so far. Has a handful of choices for each category, (amp, dirt, modulation, delay, reverb) you can set them up in whatever order you desire, get 5 effects at once. For $120 dollars that’s pretty hard to beat it seems, so the G1xfour for guitar is kinda what I got my eye on rn. Don’t care too much for the looping or drum machine.
Ignoring the audio interface the hx stomp seems pretty analogous for what I’d want out of a multi Fx pedal but 700 new for that is way too much. Recommend your fav multi effects pedals. If it can stand up to the Zoom G1Xfour and be under 300 bucks that’s basically exactly what I’m looking for. Basically that means I’m looking for amp sims , all the usual effects you’d expect to see, the freedom to set your signal chain up however you want, and I’m sure all modern mfx pedals let you update and add new fx’s but yeah. Thanks in advance for the feedback.
Alternatively you can try to convince me why $500-700 for a hx stomp is actually worth it.
