Hello,
So i've been on and off guitar playing for YEARSSSSS but I really want to get serious this year.
I know all major open chords and can change between them pretty decent, know all the notes up until the 5th fret, know my pentatonic scale shape, know a few songs and can play them fully, have decent rhythm, music theory is gibberish to me and want to get good enough to start connecting all the dots and improvising on the fly during practice and what not.
I'm not a COMPLETE beginner but not a confident Intermediate, What should I do? Is music theory important? How do people get so fast at playing, doing solos and moving through the frets and what not?
