Hey, I was recently approved by an organization for a volunteer project I’ve had in mind. The organization is essentially a long term rehabilitation center, that help rehabilitate for multiple things (drugs, alcohol, homelessness whatever).
Individuals or families who have kids live on site with them. I will be teaching a group of around 15 kids, ages 10-14 guitar. It’s mostly going to be a way to introduce music to them and give them a new experience - something these children are often not able to have.
It starts…. Tomorrow lol.
I have a guitar station, day one we’re going to learn the parts of a guitar, what a guitar is, how it works - then let them play it for a few minutes and just make noise. Station two are guitar books I have laying around, with a lot of great illustrations, third station is… coloring lol.
To the teachers out there… any advice?
