How to get sim (phone is locked and doesn’t take SIM card)

I got a iPhone 14 pro max and starting to realize how flawed this phone is. It doesn’t have a slot for SIM card and I went to gta today and they said if my phone is locked and not fully paid off then I can’t get month to month. T-Mobile back home also doesn’t do international plan for this model but does it for the iPhone 14. What other option are there besides buying a new phone?
