So instead of writing this in a similar manner to other posts I've seen addressed to Rockstar Games specifically, I'd like to try a different approach, while realizing this post will never get the attention I'd like it to, So here goes..
Dear Rockstar, As a longtime fan of your work, and a still current player of GTA Online, I've been concerned about the state of GTAO for sometime now. Its been apparent to me, and I assume many other fans that the game has been in a state of decline almost, which I completely understand. After so many years, it can become hard to manage a game of such magnitude in size, complexity and depth, and even harder to keep "fresh" for new and old players alike. Rather than criticize your work as I have done in the past, or post a negative rant, I'd like to give you some positive, and what seem to be agreed upon change that a large part of the community, myself included, would like to see going forward in the future if GTA Online is to survive, and start thriving again.
Start by promoting a balance in the open world environment of the game by doing things such as:
Removing the still broken and overpowered homing missiles in the game on vehicles such as the Oppressor Mk-2 & Deluxo.
Outright removing the Oppressor Mk-2 all together while financially compensating everybody who owns one, say $8-10 Million.
Making the Kosatka Submarine more durable or unable to be hit once sufficiently deep below the water surface.
Taking old vehicles in the game such as the Regina, Stratum, Stanier, Warrener, Penumbra, Rhapsody, etc.. and giving them new life via giving them better/more wide-ranging customization options through either the LSC shop or Benny's Motor Works.
Adding in new variants of the previously mentioned vehicles via converting them at Benny's in much the same way the Elegy RH8 turns into a totally different vehicle, For example the Rhapsody could go from being based on an AMC Pacer into an AMC Gremlin. This would even add continue to add new vehicles while giving new life to old ones.
Make the weapons more balanced so each weapon has a place, thus fixing the issue of one weapon in each category being considered "Overpowered" and everybody defaulting to it.
Next Up, continue on your recent trend of fan-service by doing things like:
Adding more property slots so the car collectors or real-estate tycoons among us can get back to doing what they love most, and continue to play the game.
Start making the weekly bonuses worthwhile again while also returning to giving prime subscription players some fairly exclusive, but not overly so, bonuses as prime once used to grant so long ago when it was a new thing in Online. Add some new Stunt Track races again, with how seemingly popular those type of races are.
Slightly increasing the odds to win on games at the Casino.
Add better and more thorough car customization options on all personal vehicles, things such as colored brake calipers, removing doors or bumpers in a clean-cut way, smoked tail-light lenses, etc.
Allow us players to sell back old pegasus vehicles we never use anymore, even if only for 50% of what we bought it for originally. And most importantly, Go back all old jobs and races in the game and permanently raise the pay on them to be competitive & worthwhile to the newer jobs & races in the game so that players will want to play that old content again.
These are just some options that I feel like could breathe new, and fresh life into GTA Online and its expansive open world environment, while also keeping GTA Online unique and still GTA at heart. I could list more, but these are the one's I feel as if are agreed upon by most of the community from my personal experience in the last 7 years. If anyone at Rockstar Games that works on the online segment of the game, You guys have the potential to make wonderful and amazing games, and potential do great things, make it happen please, Fan-Service costs you nothing and makes you money in the long-run.
