I am currently going through a support ticket with R* Support and they have requested me to make a new character and do loads of nonsense, but a pop has appeared asking me if I would like to "copy the rank of character slot 1 rank to this new character?". I'm worried if I select yes, I'll lose the progress on my main and only character.
