I was told today that a company could not install/build a two floor shed because it's against code for a secondary building to be higher than the house.
Really....? Do you know how many one houses I've seen where they're garage is two floors and way.. higher than the the one floor house ? Answer: a ton around Greensboro. Is there a way around this code? Or I'm I stuck? Background: I have a 1'188 sqft one floor house with a detached garage is ona 9,147 sqft lot. I've been looking around to expand our storage space so we have been looking around and around.. and get prices for a two story shed that eventually could add a full bathroom or expand our detached garage and add a second floor so far the shed is looking like it may not be an option since I haven't been able to talk to a general contractor for other options. But if the law/regulations state that a secondary building cannot be higher than the house I'm screwed..
