Hi all, so a friend and I have been having a really fun discussion about a song/artist and if it is grunge or not.

The triggering song is Damn! By Jeris Johnson. But the argument does include other songs of his (including a Smells Like Teen Spirit cover).

Here is the song

Now the argument is not as straight forward as is grunge / isn’t.

It’s that if grunge were to make a come back in 2021 with hone recording etc.... it would evolve to be like this, vs this is just stylistically not grunge at all.

Can’t wait to have help from you all.

Once I’ve got some opinions I’ll share some of the arguments each of us have but I want neutral opinions for now.
